Family History:
Elias’ father (Julius Abaho) died in 2023 from heart problems. Not long after his death, in 2024, Elias’ mother (Niwabiine) deserted the children. Without their knowing, she left them behind in the house alone. Elias and his sister lived by themselves for a couple of months surviving on the potato garden their father, Julius, had planted before his death. When they learned of their grandchildren living alone, Julius’ parents (Elias’ grandparents Alice and Milton) came, picked them up from the house and took them in. Alice and Milton are aging peasant farmers and cannot afford to feed and educate Elias and his sister.
