Family History:
Alfred and Viola A. are twins. Their father, Rogers, left his family of nine children with his wife to go look for work in the city. Rogers never returned. He also never sends support money back home to care for his family. Alfred and Viola’s Mum, Phionah, is overburdened with the weight of all their kids. Phionah is a peasant farmer and although she works hard in her garden, she does not make enough to feed her children nor pay school tuition fees.
