Blessing’s mother, Kiconco, was married to her father, Deus, in central Uganda. When Deus disappeared, Kiconco and their 2 daughters returned to her mother’s home, alone and starving. Kiconco tried a couple of jobs but failed and so she left the girls with their grandmother, Hope, and moved to the big city of Kampala to find work. When Kiconco got there, she got very sick and still is. Hope is in her 80s and they depend on food from their uncle to survive.
