Family History: Christian’s father, Patrick, died in 2017. Her mother, Annet, has a history of mental illness and cannot function normally, even when she is not experiencing a breakdown or relapse. Christian and her sister stay with their maternal grandmother, Loyda, who has raised them since the passing of their father. However Loyda is too old to do much farming now and can no longer provide for the children’s needs. Christian has missed years of education because she is always being chased away from schools lacking tuition fees.
