Family History:

Pretty’s father abandoned the family after leaving them and marrying another woman. Pretty was very young when her father left. He provides nothing. Pretty’s mum, Jane, is a peasant farmer and does manual labor along with Pretty to make money to survive. She does not make enough to pay school tuition.
